Okay... I am going to be the honest one here. I keep seeing these rants about the ALS Ice Bucket challenge and you know what strikes me as funny? I am betting to nine out of ten of them never donated to ALS before. But god forbid some people have a little fun with a charity. I mean.. holy crap! A bucket of ice water dumped on you.. whatever will the world come to if everyone dumps a bucket of ice water and donates money to a charity. GASP.. .the end result might be laughing, wet people and money in a charitys pocket! How horrible! How utterly ridiculous! I mean we shouldnt need to have fun to donate right? We shouldnt need the ribbons and the bumper stickers an the T shirts in order to donate. And yet we do. We live in a world where often we forget those that need help. We post memes talking about advancing research and reminding others to support some cause but rarely do we put our money where are mouth (or in this case our FB wall) is. And here is where I am going to be honest. Before last week, no I didnt donate to ALS. My money went to the pink ribbon because that is a cause that affects me directly. But last week I did. Last week my tiny donation helped the ALS to have recordbreaking donations. Last week I sat down and talked with my boys about ALS. Last week I remembered that there are things other than breast cancer that are equally traumatic. Are you really going to discount all of that because my hair was wet when I did it?
