Okay! I have finally dealt with the trauma of buying a bathing suit. Men have no idea what a woman who has lost the bloom of youth, along with her girlish figure, goes through to achieve that goal. I decided that I needed the stupid thing for tubing down the Colorado River or just cooling off in a pool, so I would simply have to deal with it. I decided the only way was brutal reality, sort of like yanking off a Band-Aid. Looking good is no longer an option, so I just took that out of the equation. If it isnt going to look good, then why pay any more than necessary for it? No need to go through the agony of trying them on in a public setting, either! That alone made me feel a lot better. Reducing the project to its lowest common denominator, I found the cheapest style they had & chose a black with multi-colored inserts on either side, which I am hoping will give the illusion of narrowing me a little. (I can dream, right?) Then I just grabbed the biggest size because I dont care about great fit as long as its big enough. Its very stretchy anyway. I tried it on when I got home & it fits just fine. Unless I could afford a designer suit, I doubt if anything would have looked any better anyway & I didnt waste time agonizing over it & hating myself. When anyone sees me in it, they will know this is what Pat looks like & if you dont like it - SORRY! It is what it is. I have as much right to enjoy myself as young & pretty people do.
