Okay, I *know* my garden isnt as pretty per se as most people in the group likely have. Living in the foothills at 7242 is a bit different plus Ive struggled to get things done (like weed eating the grass and perfecting projects) while doing chemotherapy AND with very little or no help. But I wanted to post a few pics of what Ive done so far. These are from a couple of weeks ago so things are looking MUCH better by now. Weve had more sun so the curcurbits are especially bigger! The tall structure is last years row cover set higher (oh, my aching back! LOL) on rebar with chicken wire around the bottom and next to it are my cold frames without the winter skylights but with a chicken wire fence and more garden fabric over lettuces, arugula, and spinach. The row cover has three kinds of onions, leeks, radishes, carrots, and spinach. Then theres the area (the old horse pen) for my vining veggies (squash, pumpkin, watermelon, spaghetti squash, cukes, cantaloupe, plus a couple of artichokes and tomatoes (just to see how they do in that area.) The chain link panels are for deer and hail protection (improvements on that next year...something easier to take on and off, I hope.) I had a terrific harvest with these in this same area last year so well see what this year brings. Ill run most of these up over the old fence panels when they start spreading. The A frame greenhouse is perfect for the tomatoes and peppers...not the prettiest thing in the world (improvements upcoming for next year)...but it works and has lots of heat which I need up there! Oh yes, in front of it is my potato bucket for the sweet potato slips that I just planted yesterday...90 days to harvest is early October...so Im pushing it there. More pics another time of my 34 pots of annuals! Thanks for looking!
