Okay....I need to vent so here goes. This morning my sister posted about her missing rat terrier, Eight Ball. He went missing last night after she let him out to potty. He is 15 and losing his hearing. This morning, after searching all night, she posted on Lost and Found Pets of Desoto County as well as on the Tunica HumaneSociety page. That is where you go to get help in finding your furbaby, right? Wrong. She called me a little while ago. She is distraught because people were making ugly accusing comments about the fact that he is nearly deaf and should have not been out at all, that he looked thin, that it was raining (it sprinkled for about 10 minutes during the night) and said she should not have accused the neighbor of taking her dog. This dog is old and is not as fat as he has been but is in no way too thin. Yes he is nearly deaf. The routine has always been to let him out, he does his business, and comes back up on the porch. He has lived there ALL HIS LIFE. He is not a wanderer. As for accusing the neighbor, she was merely repeating the story she was told BY the neighbor and never mentioned her by name. The reality is that this neighbor as well everyone else up and down this road knows this dog and knows who he belongs to. My sister was forced to pull the posts down and is now scared her little guy is lost forever. I cant believe she was attacked like that over her baby. Anyone who knows her knows how much she loves and cares for her furbabies. Its very disappointing when the very people you turn to for help are the very ones to turn on you and make a horrific situation even worse. So Im asking anyone who genuinely wants to help her find her little guy, please keep a lookout in Byhalia in the Sandy Ridge Road area. He deserves be home where he is loved.
