Okay, I saw this yesterday at IFI OPEN DAY 2014 and it took me a little time to make up my mind about it. I really think as many people as possible need to see Boyhood - although its probably more of a guys film. It meanders a lot, having no real story of any kind and the acting unfortunately degrades as the young cast grow older but there is definitely something that resonates with you while watching it. For me, I know there were some very clear issues I understood but all-in-all, it really just visualises the entirety of adolescence pretty beautifully. The connection, the disconnection, the naiveté, the confusion, the warmth... a little bit more of the strife would have helped but whatever. A wonderful example of cinema vérité that offers you your own resolution.
