Okay I want to dispel a myth right now about Larry Bird not being athletic. The NBA always wants to hype that 1 great generational player and say he is the best ever. They declared Michael Jordan the best after Bird retired. But Bird in his prime was even better than Jordan. Ya, I said it. Jordan is noted for his ability to intimidate other players and bend them to his will. Jordan and Kobe have a killer instinct that James lacks, but even if you were to combine Jordan and Kobes killer instinct attitudes... it would still probably be less than or equal to Birds. Bird dominated Jordan and Pippen both, even after his multiple serious injuries to his knee and back that caused him to have this stigma of being extremely non-athletic. But watch him in his prime. The dude was fairly athletic, sharp, and precise, not only with his shooting but his passing. Comparing Lebron James to Michael Jordan and having this debate of who is the best, while completely overlooking Bird and even Kobe. They say Jordan is better because of the killer instinct, but why didnt Birds killer instinct put him over Jordan? You cant have it both ways. Either killer instinct is the deciding factor or it isnt. Either size and strength is or its not. Jordan only started winning his titles after Bird retired and it was because he left this massive void that Jordan was able to capitalize on, with the help of his boy Pippen.
