Okay; Im back again to help write our first story together called Old Timer Spence Taylor aka Old Timer has just had an horrendous problem dumped on his doorstep ... literally. I dont know of anyone personally, that had a murdered cadaver left at the entrance of their home. So heres is where you use your (what if) imagination. What if, this really did happen to you in this exact situation that you created in your mind ... no one is there to help you; you are truly alone. You are homeless, barely getting by and looked down on by those that see you as a third or fourth class citizen. How do you think law enforcement will treat and think of you, when they catch you with a cadaver at your feet? You also have to realize your safe little hideaway wont be a hideaway any longer ... everyone is going to know about you, now. What would you do to protect your belongings; what little you have; and the secrecy of your haven, a place where you can truly rest in peace. Here is what well have Spence do about it in our story ... (Spence dresses up for the outdoors and spends a lot of time looking for the gloves that he now thinks is lost. He chuckles nervously about it somewhat; for he thinks psychologically, he doesnt want to find the gloves, because hes afraid to go out there; and thats why he cant come up with them. He finally sees them on the floor; partially covered up by the blankets over in the corner. He scoops them up and places his hands inside the gloves, as he climbs the stairs to ground level. He stoops down first and looks through the hole in the wall again. The body is still there; he tries to see as much of the surrounding area as he possibly can; there doesnt seem to be anyone around. Thats the one thing that does have a calming effect on him; knowing there is no one around this time of night. Oh, there are times when someone strays in here; but its usually a homeless person with his bedroll on his back, looking for a place to sleep undisturbed throughout the night. He listens intently and decides that now is the time to pull his courage together and do the job that needs to be done; get it over with as quickly as possible. Spence; very slowly ... moves to the opening and peers his head out; a little peek at a time, to make damn sure he is truly alone. The body thats lying dead in front of him, is positively without company; except for him. His hands tremble while he reaches down and rolls the body over to face upward. He moves to the end of the dead body; reaches down and grabs the ankles; he slowly begins to drag the young body away from the entrance. He tugs and pulls with all his might; dragging the body toward the other side of the abandoned industrial area; praying silently that he wont get caught doing this horrible thing. He keeps stopping and catching his breath; then Spence looks around carefully, before he starts dragging the body again ... its a very long way to where he wants to stash the body. Finally; he makes it to where he wants to be and props the body in a sitting position, after brushing off the boys backside. The body is so bruised; it will be hard to tell if any additional bruises were made by being dragged about. Spence; takes off his coat and begins backtracking and swirling away any dragged marks upon the ground. His coat is getting dirty; but its doing one hell of a job covering up the telltale trail. Spence finally makes it back to the hideaway with a successful smile on his face. All signs of a killing by the entrance to his place, have disappeared; and everything is back to looking normal; it looks as if nothing unpleasant ever happened here. Once back inside his hideaway; he cleans up his coat ... it too. ends up looking as good as before.) That is an unthinkable act to do with a cadaver (but it could happen if one is desperate enough) its believable, because if you were pushed in the corner; about to lose the only safe harbor around, what would you do to protect it? Without it, youre a target to all the lowlifes looking to take advantage of you ... what better way than when youre sleeping. As a writer you also have to understand that what Spence has done to cover up and protect himself ... has a consequence. Your mind and body have to react, after a crisis such as this; its the human thing to do ... Spence isnt a hardened assassin; hes a gentle person, frightened that he might have been discovered, he had to force himself to do what he just did. We must come up with a plausible reaction to what Spence has just frightfully done. Weve all been, (Im assuming now); in situations of our past where we can tap into our memories. If not; you may have to do a little homework; perhaps you never have been in a trauma situation between life and death ... but what if you can imagined by what Spence has just done, you are after all Spence; and youre also the writer ... you were with Spence every step of the way while he was doing this. You were scared right along with him; for it was you dragging that dead body to a new location ... looking in every direction while doing so ... you know exactly how he feels!
