Okay Im giving away my own strategy on how to cure/prevent HIV...Feel free to modify and/or change it... 1. You go through an autologous peripheral stem cell transplant, pretty much you get some blood stem cells from your blood by a process called leukapheresis... 2. you genetically engineer the stem cells to introduce a mutation in CCR5 gene to make it non functional (CCR5 is needed by most HIV to enter the cells)- so HIV literally cannot enter cells 3. You also engineer the cells to trigger apoptosis...cell death by using HIV Tat as a transcription Factor..(so pretty much this is back up) if HIV makes into the cell, and wants to use it for its production... the same protein it uses for the production would be the same protein that would initiate the death switch of the cell... no infected cell - no HIV production. 4. You target to iKBE by constantly expressing a synthetic miRNA that specifically Downregulates iKBE gene Just incase HIV tries to go into its latent Phase (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23365428) so NO HIV HIDING!!! 5. THIS IS DONE BY MD ANDERSON- DEfinitely MY FAVORITE HIV RESEARCH DONE ( BUT COULD BE THE BEST POSSIBLE VACCINATION FOR HIV PREVENTION) it would also enhance the therapy and could possibly be an alternative strategy for a cure if immune systems functions well... MD Anderson did this research...i think its one of the closest attempts to cure HIV and/or prevent it.. in HIV...They used Antibodies that acted like enzymes (catalytic antibodies) to literally destroy the arms/handles of HIV ...now we all know that HIV mutates alot....but there is this very conserved site in the arm that never mutates... CD4 Binding Site...This is the exact part of the (Glyco)protein that recognizes your blood cells... so technically if you destroy that part....HIV would not be able to recognize your cells... n u would probably piss it out... SUMMARY 1. No CD4BS in HIV- no HIV-cell recognition 2. No CCR5 in Blood cells - no HIV entry in cells 3. Tat transgene - IF HIV enters and starts using your cells by Tat protein..Tat will also trigger an immediate death response to self destruct before more HIV viruses could be released... No HIV cell factories... No more produced HIV in host body 4. no iKBE - Latent HIV activation 5. Possible Vaccination!!! :D :D :D :D Excited for MD Anderson! Using stem cells will ensure that all new blood cells will have those features as they develop into the new system... Now im not sure if we should use chemotherapy to destroy the existing cells before transferring the new cells...that id have to investigate... HIV is a GENETIC disease so it Needs a GENETIC cure/prevention unless MD Andersons catalytic antibodies work!! :D :D :D ..
