Okay an answer to the question I asked a couple days ago. First I got to give a shoot-out to my brethren. For those of you who don’t speak “Squid” I’ll translate for you. ……………………………………………………………….. Well boy’s the “Big E”s getting moth balled to the bone yard. The first CVN 65, it had 6 plants on it. I worked on it a couple time’s. During WWII heroes were made on that ship. Such as the crew that was on the Stark that we saw after going thru the ditch, I salute them we owe crew so much. I bid them, ‘FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS.’’ ……………………………………………………………………...... Okay for all you Land-Lover. The USS Enterprise (CVN 65) the worlds first nuclear powered aircraft carrier. Refitted in 1961 they didn’t know how much power a nuclear power plant would produce, so they put 6 plants on board. This may be a naval myth, but I heard that if they went full speed in reverse, it could spin its own propeller off. During the Second World War it was deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operation, and played a pivotal role in the major battles to keep America safe and free. We owe our freedom nay our lives to the crew that manned the Big E. Please take a moment to study the USS Enterprise’s history. I salute the personal of the Big E the same way I saluted the crew of the USS Stark that we passed after going through the Suez Canal after it took two missiles in the Persian Gulf in 1987. Being a Hull Technician {which is basically a Damage Control specialist} on the USS Guadalcanal LPH-7, I know first-hand the team it took for the crew of the USS Stark to keep that ship afloat. So I can only imagine what the crew on the “Big E” was going through during war time. So as every Operation Chief at NASA wishes “Godspeed” to each mission, so do I. ……………………………………….. Yeah, I’m tearing up a little right now!!!! So again, I wish them, ‘FAIR WIND & FOLLOWING SEAS’ and ‘GODSPEED’{ from this dimension to the next}
