Okay friends... My house is officially listed for sale. We built the house of our dreams 7 years ago. We lived there for 4 great years and LOVED the house, but the house payment wasnt as fun, especially when I left the corporate world 3 years ago and took a drastic reduction in pay in the non-profit world (It certainly isnt profitable in $$, but so much so in heart... if only that would make a house payment). It was all worth it and we have loved scaling back to a smaller lifestyle. We think it is the perfect fit for our family and a great lesson for our children. We have been renting the house out for 3 years and had some great tenants caring for it, but its time to move on and just eat the loss. We are listing it 20k less than we paid for it and that hurts, but it is what it is and we are ready! So you may see me walking around shirtless once we find the perfect buyer, but its really hot here anyways. I just hope I dont lose my pants along with my shirt and we can at least break even.
