Okay...friends...please share. As most of you know my 2012 Hyundai Sonata that i bought new at Jones Auto Junction caught fire on the 4h of July WITHOUT WARNING. i was in the car but fortunately was able to get out thanks to a kind passerby alerting me of the fire. So after this happened i went called my insurance, hyundai corporation and Jones. My insurance will cover the value of my car but that would allow me to buy another car USED wih more mileage. (I had 25,000 miles on mine. ) also... all of my belongings that were in the car would have to be claimed under homeowners insurance. I didnt feel that this would make me whole again. Which is what an insurance company is supposed to. So i decided to file a claim with hyundai corp. And see what they would do for me. I filled out a huge packet of documents and sent them. I was told after receiving them it would take about 6 to 8 weeks for a decision. So in the mean time.. i had no car. I never purchased a rental policy with my ins because Jones provides you with a rental when you get your car serviced..so what would be the point? Plus it was a brand new car wouldny think od need a rental at all. Sooo i had my moms car for 2 weeks. (She broke her arm) after she could drive again twe went to Jones and talked to the owner Steve Smeltzer, service manager Darryl and Wallace the sales manager. After basically bursting into tears in front of all of them about how i need a vehicle to get to all of my drs appts, surgeries, pharmacy trips every week...etc they called Hyundai as we sat there to see what was going on with the investigation. Then they decided to give me a rental car indefinitely. So now... about 9 weeks later from when i got the rental they are harassing me to give it back. Darryl has left me several messages that were down right nasty. I call him back eberytime and he still continues to call and be nasty. Steve even told us to sue Hyundai and sue him too. (Sooo you recommend suing a company that you represent?) Hyundai has said that they are finalizing the investigation. So apparently Jones cant wait a few days longer. We called Jones to explain to them that hyundai is almost done. Steve the owner of Jones said he didnt remember us being in his office at all. (This is not the first time that someone didnt remember me calling about a car burning to the ground either) pretty sad actually. Steve also claimed that it is costing him 30 dollars a day out of his pocket to lend me this car. (Yeah right) My whole point of the matter is that Hyundai uses Jones to sell their cars. Jones REPRESENTS Hyundai. You would think that between the two of them they could pay 30 a day for one of their customers whose car caught on fire and could have killed them. So i am now doing the following things..in addition to retaining a lawyer. As of right now I am not angry at Hyundai. This may change but from what ive been told so far they are going to help me. 1. Spreading the word on social media that Jones Junction is company that when something goes horribly wrong with their car they could care less about their customers well being. 2. Writing to News stations 3. Considering towing my car (burnt wreckage) to their showroom/lot so they can service it because i was told thats the only way they give rentals for extended periods of time. 4. Riding around like the picture shown... good advertisement r8ght? 5. Calling the police for harrassment at my place of work. (Which I never told them I worked here so Im not quite sure how my personal inf9nwas obtained ) 6. Never buying a car there again and recommending that everyone do the same. these pictures are of the fire and of my car that im renting right now... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share this post and let your friends and family know what will happen when you buy a car at Jones Auto Junction.
