Okay, here is the information I could come up with about Iceland: - Even if the flights are cheap the destination is not. It would be comparable to other major European Capital costs but because they have high taxes and they have to import many things it’s not a cheap destination. - You can spend a couple of days in Reykjavik wondering around but most of the stuff to see and do is outside of the city. This hotel looks awesome and not just because it sounds like it was named by Dr.Suess. tripadvisor/Hotel_Review-g189970-d619115-Reviews-CenterHotel_Thingholt-Reykjavik_Capital_Region.html - Iceland is incredibly scenic. Here are some things you can see and do are: Blue Lagoon hot springs, geysers, glaciers, ride an Icelandic horse, snorkel, visit waterfalls, see the northern lights, snowmobiling, whale watching, cave exploring, and river rafting just to name a few. - Fermented shark called Karkarl is a delicacy and eaten by the locals. - It is only a 6.5 hour flight to get from Edmonton to Reykjavik. - Iceland makes for a good stop over en route to other destinations in Europe.
