Okay, so heres the deal: I dont like vegetables. Let me be clear, I do not like vegetables. Okay, corn. Potatoes. Tomatoes. For the purposes of eating healthier to then lose weight, these dont really count as vegetables. I saw something the other day that intrigued me. A spiral slicer for zucchini and other vegetables of that sort. It cuts them into spaghetti type shapes, that is then sauteed in olive oil until they are the texture of actual spaghetti. Zucchini is interesting as it has one redeeming use: zucchini bread. I did some internet research, found the best option, and set out yesterday to find it. I was unsuccessful yesterday, and again today. The only one I could find was the cheap, as seen on tv, option that leaves a good chunk of the zucchini uncut, and looks really awkward to use. So I finally broke down and bought one from Amazon. It wont be here until Saturday. I was unable to delay my gratification and curiosity, so I sliced really small slices, spaghetti size actually, of zucchini for dinner tonight. I made some meat sauce, and sauteed the zucchini. OMG people. Once I get a real slicer that allows it to look like spaghetti, Im not sure I will ever eat actual spaghetti again. At least not at home. For those of you familiar with Weight Watchers, the only points from our entire meal were from the extra lean ground beef in the sauce. 4 POINT DINNER, and it was excellent!!! (Polly Bispo-Wall, this was why I was in World Market - which I still think of as Cost Plus, and they should really carry it.) The spiral slicer I ordered is the Joyce Chen.
