Okay so one of my very smart facebook friends edited my bio here it is: Laura Tohom has been a resident of Sunland-Tujunga since 2007. She is the owner and artistic director for A Work for Christ Dance Ministries which she started in 2009. A Work for Christ is a non-profit organization that provides discipline and self esteem for Sunland-Tujunga youth girls. As well as teaching ballet, the program teaches young girls to achieve their goals and become future leaders. Laura’s students include her daughter Gissele Tohom, current National American Miss Sunland-Tujunga Queen, and Sarah Broderson, current Miss Amazing Title holder for the state of California. She believes that her students have a duty to give back to the community, and teaches them to be involved in local service programs such as Saffyre Sanctuary; a program the rehabilitates horses and serving the homeless through donations and holiday dinners. Laura’s passion is serving the Sunland-Tujunga community through fundraising and teaching ballet. In 2013 Laura set and reached her goal of raising $12,000 to build a dance studio at Tujunga Canyon Open Bible Church . Laura is receiving her education in discipleship at Inste Bible College. She is a currently an on-site manager for RDM Management, Inc.
