Okay, so the sun is finally shining and hopefully the pool will be evaporating so Ill share with you my VERY early morning. See, my cats are smart. Like, weird smart. Like, human genius smart without the ability to speak English or perform brain surgery as they dont have opposable thumbs. They also only disturb my sleep when its time for me to get my ass outta bed and give them wet food. And only Starla does this because Axl doesnt give a cuss about wet food. But at three oclock this morning, I felt a kitty paw on my arm. I opened my eyes and through the lightning lighting my room, I saw it was Axl. I heard and saw the storm and thought the kitties were just freaked. But Axl was lying there, eyes to me, calm as could be, but paw on my arm and not moving so I had a feeling something was wrong. I figured the umbrellas Id left up outside were probably going insane and Axl wanted me to take care of the situation pronto. So I got up to inspect. And found the door to the back yard wide open. No idea how it got that way - just thanked God my cats were smart enough not to bolt out of it. So then I wake up later, trudge bleary-eyed as the storm still rages, heading toward lifes blood...in other words, coffee...I see my pool dangerously close to overflowing. In a panic, even if its early, I text my pool guy. Now, my pool guy is cute so I often text him, you know, to share things he needs to know about my pool and invent reasons for him to come out. This was not one of those times. This was Kit in a panic wondering if I needed to head to Home Depot and buy sandbags and not liking that idea. He assured me Id be okay. I didnt believe him. He was right. Though, I do feel the pool needs to be drained...you know, just because. There you go, smart cats and hot pool guys. Its never boring at the Rock Chick Lair. Though, I could do without a heart attack pre-coffee. Rock on!
