Okay, so today i am going to talk about the Kashmir problem, when the britishers we ruling us, they had anticipated a russian threat from the north , so in short they both resolved at that time that russia will not expand towards india and england will not expand towards russian territory. And as long as they were ruling india, there was no problem, as china was weak at that time and pakistan was part of the india. So, historically at that time, there used to be no concept of maps, the concept of maps was only brought by the britishers ( i mean thats what is written in neivelle maxwell) , so when britishers left india , with china it was more of a situation that we claimed that is area is ours, and china was claiming no its ours. Ultimately, due to the poor and the wrong policy of expansion by jawahar lal nehru, we triggered a border war with china, which we lost. There is one fundamental law in geo politics when you are expanding your territory which your neighbor is claiming to be is his own, you have to be prepared for the war. At that time jawaral nehru was claiming to be world hero, he was like founder of the non aligned movement and he said we have just gained independence from britishers and so he belives in a policy of non expansion and he is not a threat to any country, so no body will attack us. Infact after the war happened and we lost aksai chin , when he addressed the house in parliament he regrets that army generals came to him with request for equipment and he would reject the list, that why need a tank, why buy it, ( or we will make it slowly in next 15-20 year, written in official history by ministry of defence) . He was a man that was responsible for dividing india between pakistan and bangladesh , we lost huge areas in kashmir to pakistan in 1947 and again to china in 1962. His whole concept of nehruvian economic model for india , collapsed in 1991 when we opened up the economy. This man which we all fondly called chacha nehru, created so much mess. This is exactly what happens when power is given to incompetent people. Everybody knows that who was to become to prime minsiter of india when it gained independence, who had how many votes, and it was only at the sifarish to gandhi that sardar patel, stepped aside and nehru was made the prime minister, its all written in history. And the reason we lost the war was that we were not prepared for it, whereas china had spend 5-8 years to plan it carefully the logistics and manpower. One of the other reasons, we lost the war was that jawaharlal nehru, was like himself the home minister, finance minister, prime minister, foreign minister, defence minister, i mean he was doing everything single hand and because of his incompetence we lost the war. Every one must read the letter that sardar patel wrote to him in this regards. Its printed in john dalvi,s book. With Pakistan its alot different story. And we need some historical perspective to look into this
