My original plan was to teach high school history/social studies. I took the first class in our Secondary Education program and determined this wasnt the path I wanted to take. Nothing at all against my colleagues at that level or who are pursuing that mind you! Just not for me! 2. Speaking of high school, I went to an all guys Catholic high school. Also, a Catholic grade school. In fact, WKU is the first and only public school I ever attended! 3. Several years ago, I co-authored with my mom a childrens book in the very early days of internet self-publishing! So, it was sorta rough when it came to things like editing...meaning, the editor sorta didnt exist. Its still out there! Go to amazon and search for Once Upon Another Time, Another Place and yes....I *was* Nigel Davenport. Dont ask. Ive also written (under my own name!) several entries for a variety of specialized encyclopedias used at the high school and college level. 4. Not to be a downer, but Ive found it helps to be open about it. I suffer from mild to moderate depression. I was diagnosed in 2009, and I still struggle with it. But, Im better, I promise! If you need help, get help...people are there to listen and people really do care. Trust me, I know. 5. Since were listing chronic conditions, I also have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand and wrist. 6. Okay, so youre probably tired of hearing about my health, so moving on! I am a die hard Doctor Who fan! I started watching the original series on public television back in Chicago in the 1980s, and I got to meet and get autographs from two of the original Doctors, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee! 7. I miss Chicago terribly sometimes. I plan on going home for about a week next summer! Okay...whos next!!
