Okay, this week just may be the strangest yet! Now, we have electrodes glued to my Super Honeys head for 48 hours. No showers, only sponge baths, and yes, he has to sleep in this manner. 24 electrodes and a cool fanny pack for the computer. And, why the latest form of torture? To monitors Rons brain for seizure activity. He had one seizure on Oct. 18, 2012. So, the new neurologist who seems to have an A game, said that Ron has a 5-7% chance of another seizure. He asked me, do you want to just stop the meds and see if another occurs, or try this and we can monitor his brain for any seizure activity. Um....if youve ever witnessed a seizure, there really is no quandary here. I dont desire a repeat of calling 911, sticking my fingers in his Ron s mouth, watching him foam, and yelling for the paramedics. No.....I think 48 hours of this fresh hell is the better way to go. At least Ron keeps his humor, and I am sharing a pic and a little video from us leaving the parking lot. I keep telling him he looks extra hot. Ron says he looks like Frankenstein. Tomato / To-mah-to!! The second new adventure is Botox! Finally! It took me two weeks, an hour on the phone with the oh so efficient Anthem Insurance, a pharmacist that is golden, and crying on the phone with a nurse who doesnt want to call Anthem again. Yes, folks....this is the new normal for Botox approval to help someone with pain and spasticity. But, the good news is there happened to be an appointment open for TOMORROW to be injected. Or wait until October. Thank you, Divine....we will be in the car tomorrow after therapy! So, thats it. A killer week. Up and down with emotions. Working hard. Slogging through this chapter. We will do it. Because it is needed. Because we love each other. Because a Life is a gift, and we want to honor the Divine and our Community for their Grace and Support. We are Blessed....thank you everyone!
