Okay, two more ranting harangues on Facebook. The Misophonia post is coming soon, I promise. This one is pretty serious, though. Ive been reading on the Internet (stories in the Black Cat Appreciation Group and other assorted websites) about animal abuse (not just cats) inflicted on poor, defenseless animals by CHILDREN. Some of them teenagers or younger. What is going on with society here? Are we not teaching our children compassion? I read about teenage girls torturing turtles, cats used as soccer balls, and a few things way too terrible to mention here. And the torturing of (black) cats on Halloween. Sadly, this is still done. This is absolutely killing me. I believe that the children (and the parents) should be fined and penalized to the fullest extent that the law will allow, regardless of their age. AND my deepest wish is they have to live with a guilty conscience for the rest of their lives. Perhaps I am being over-sensitive. I was upset when I found out some people gave away their cat and got a dog - animals are not arbitrary and disposable. I am also worried that the vet is going to hold Jesses head too hard when he does the surgery. Yes, Im over-sensitive when it comes to animals and I wish I had the resources to help them. And, believe it or not, I love children, too (well, most of them). I just want to see compassion and goodness in this world, is that too much to ask?
