Okay, we are still looking for likes from RHODE ISLAND and KENTUCKY, but let’s go ahead and try for another state. How about…NEBRASKA Facts (both fun and interesting): The word Nebraska comes from the Oto Indian word that means flat water, but most people refer to Nebraska as the Cornhusker State. Its motto is “Equality before the law”…interesting. It has 4 major rivers (Missouri, Niobrara, Platte and the Republican Rivers), which means that Nebraska has more miles of rivers than any other state. It is bordered by SIX states (Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota and Wyoming). The state bird is the Western Meadowlark, the mammal is the White-tailed deer and the state fossil…yes I said fossil is the Mammoth. I don’t know about you but, I didn’t know that one. The state soft drink is KooL-Aid which was developed in Hastings in 1927. It is illegal to go whale fishing in Nebraska; I didnt know that was an issue there. Malcolm X, Fred Astaire, Marlon Brando, Gerald Ford, Andy Roddick, Larry the Cable Guy, Gabrielle Union, Warren Buffett and Nicholas Sparks are all from Nebraska. Do you know any Cornhuskers you can share our page with?
