Okay, we now have the Players Handbook. Gods are handled more - TopicsExpress

Okay, we now have the Players Handbook. Gods are handled more loosely, allowing us some customization. Since we are breaking away from the Forgotten Realms storyline as we develop the game, I figured I would present my current ideas on our area. Area before human settlement: Non-human deities pantheon. Human colonies before Dark Times: Greek Pantheon Primitive humans after Dark Times: Norse Pantheon Gods will develop more as we play, adding customized Gods while removing less popular deities. The overarching storyline is impacted by the Great Orc Horde, which 60 years ago devastated the area. While the Orc occupation only lasted a couple years as the massive migration moved further South, the fallout following the Orc Horde tore apart Human civilization, causing an almost full collapse. The elite human colonialists went in a very dark direction during this time to ensure Summerton did not fall as the towns and villages surrounding the area had. However, most surviving humans fled into the wilderness and restarted life. Hunting bands and small subsistence farming communities replaced the human colonial structure. This concept could change again, but this is the working idea as I develop the area.
