Okay yall, I need to clear the air about some things. I know for a lot of you, youll not have a clue what Im talking about, and if so, please just disregard this. As a lot of your know, I started this group because I wanted to have a place where I could talk about local/Michigan craft beer and other craft beverages and the related businesses. The group was loosely based off of EatGR, mostly just by name and the fact that I liked the idea of doing monthly meetups. Christopher Freeman has rules in his group, as do I, but they are completely unrelated, as far as I am concerned. Over the past few months as both of our groups have grown by leaps and bounds, Mr. Freeman has decided to make changes to EatGR to keep things as he likes them. Which, unfortunately not everyone seems to agree with, and thats fine, and that is their prerogative, just as it is Mr. Freemans prerogative to make changes to his group. Because of a post today by Mr. Freeman, there has been quite a bit of angry and unsavory posts happening in various Facebook groups related to Grand Rapids/West Michigan food & drink. Because of this, I have made the decision to leave EatGR as an administrator, and have also decided to end the cooperative DrinkGR/EatGR meetups. Again, the similarities between DrinkGR & EatGR end with the name and meetup formats (even though ours run much longer). We both have our own guidelines regarding the administration of our groups. Chris and I have had numerous private conversations about how he administers EatGR and we disagree quite often; and thats just fine. We each have our own ideas and opinions about how things should be run. I have nothing against Mr. Freeman, and wish him well with EatGR. tl;dr - DrinkGR and EatGR have nothing to do with each other, I am no longer an admin on EatGR. There will no longer be DrinkGR/EatGR meetups.
