Okay, yall. Last post on this. I expected to be devastated to lose this job I loved so much ... but Im not. Im disappointed, mainly in the head of the division, who is a good and fair woman, but whatever. She got the wool pulled over her eyes by a liar bent on hurting me. Im not devastated. Im not stewing in self loathing. The knot in my stomach is gone. Part of it is because Travis County is losing a good, dedicated employee and theyll realize too late that they lost at least as much as I did in this debacle. The other part is inexplicable. The only reason I can give for my relatively calm response is all the prayers and love and good thoughts I got from yall. Technology is a weird-ass thing, huh? Most of yall Ive never met or heard your spoken voice. But I consider yall friends and corny as it sounds, comrades in arms in the fight for a better world, where lies and fear dont win the day. Thats what I suspect is behind this calmness. Of course I might wake up at 3am bawling my eyes out, but for right now, Im all right. Even if you think this is the placebo effect, and that prayer and loving thought doesnt have to power to travel across distances, thanks. I love yall too.
