Okiki Oderos OPEN LETTER TO UHURU KENYATTA & RAILA ODINGA. RE : WHAT IS SO SERIOUSLY SECRETIVE ABOUT CORDS SABA SABA RALLY? Your Excellencies, It is with great humility that I seek your mighty audience through this inquisitive missive. I am in disagreement with both if you, on Saba Saba. Comrade Raila, we have national problems, not a national crisis! This is why I do not think that Mass Action is a national necessity. On this, I am with comrade Kenyatta. Comrade Kenyatta, I disagree with you, for refusing to permit and facilitate National Dialogue. Why are you not for dialogue? I am a confused Kenyan. Raila Odinga promised a storm while in America. His explanation of it today is far from convincing. Comrade Uhuru, on Madaraka Day, you promised to engage on national television. The next day, your tune changed. What is it? A good student of history as I am, I believe that both of you (Kamwana and Comrade Agwambo) are not saying all there is! Sun Tzu, in the Art Of War observes that, All warfare is based in deception. Are we Kenyans being deceived by the two of you? Machiavelli, in The Prince observes that, No enterprise is more likely to succeed than one concealed from the enemy until it is ripe for execution. You said the talks would not be about Mkate Nusu; and CORD denied ever demanding for Mkate Quarter. I cannot but help wondering if we Kenyans are mere PAWNS in the political chess game that is being played between JUBILEE and CORD, between your excellency, as Jubilees captain; and Agwambo, as CORDs captain. There is more than meets the eye. We common men are simple simpletons. Nicolo Machiavelli therefore observes that, Men are so simple and so much inclined to obey immediate needs that a deceiver will never lack victims for his deceptions. Pray I, that we are not being deceived. Winston Churchill said, Study History, study history. In history lies all the secrets of statecraft. History of statecraft confirms one thing. State are always much more than we see. Politicians do not always say what they are saying. This need not be so. Jean Racine says, There are no secrets that time does not reveal. George Benard Shaw further observes that, The only secrets are secrets that keep themselves. When the truth will out, I pray that all will have been done in the best interest of all Kenyans. My greatest interest, always, is Kenyans and Kenya. I pray and fervently hope that you have our best interests at heart, as you make your calculations, political or otherwise. On 7th July 1990, Kenya was not a pretty picture. We can do much better, today! There always is a better way of doing things. We can talk and resolve all our national issues, without necessarily warring. Sun Tzu, in the ART OF WAR,says, There is no instance of a country having benefitted from...warfare. Shall we not heed him? Let us all do better. Kenyans are much more greater than either of you. Let us all build Kenya, TOGETHER AS ONE! Let me also take this opportunity to congratulate Comrade Dennis Itumbi, and Onyango Ochieng Jr., for championing an online forum for constructive debate on social media. What we Kenyans want is constructive and peace-based dialogue. That is it! God Bless Kenya, and Kenyans. Kind Regards, Okiki Odero Rege Senior Citizen - REPUBLIC KENYA.
