Okwi not happy with his display against Madagascar Uganda Cranes striker Emma Okwi says that he was disappointed with his own performance in Saturday’s 2015 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar at Namboole stadium. The Yanga Africa FC striker who failed to find the back of the net over two legs, believes that he can do better than what he put in over the two legged affair against Madagascar. ‘I know what I can offer to the team. I know my abilities. I trust myself but my performances over two legs could have been better’ Okwi told Cranes Group on Phone! The striker was replaced by his club mate Hamis Diego Kiiza in the second half. Okwi who threw a water bottle in frustration to his poor under performance as he walked to the bench says that the action was just all about his contribution to the game. ‘When I fail to deliver, I feel bad. My standards have not be up there but there is room for improvement’ added Okwi. Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevich named a deadly attacking forward line of Okwi, tricky Moses Oloya and Geoffrey Massa who were assisted by Kizito Luwagga, Kizito ‘Baba’ Geoffrey and Khalid Awucho in the midfield. The attacking trio saw Okwi operate on the right wing most of game with Massa the main striker as he managed to produce the solitary striker over 90 minutes. ‘ I am happy that the Cranes have own and made the fans happy’ I will look forward to the Cranes next game and hopefully I can do better’ added Okwi. Okwi and his teammates will enjoy the moment for now following Uganda’s qualification but will keep their ears on the ground waiting for the team they play next. It could be either Equatorial Guinea or Mauritania. The next 2015 AFCON qualifiers will be played on the weekend of 18th-20th July.
