Old Christ Church, Mann St Gosford. This was the first Anglican - TopicsExpress

Old Christ Church, Mann St Gosford. This was the first Anglican church built on the Central Coast originally opened at East Gosford in 1858. At that time East Gosford was the main settlement area. It was designed by colonial architect Edmund Blackett who also designed such buildings as Sydney University, St Andrews Cathedral Sydney and St Saviours Cathedral Goulburn. As the focus of the settlement shifted from East Gosford to the current Gosford town centre, the church was relocated stone by stone to its current location overlooking Brisbane Water between 1904 and 1906. The numbering system used to identify each block for the move can still be seen on many of the blocks.
