Old must yield to the new is an old phenomenon. We grew up having cold coffee at B N Rama, selecting cards and buying AVIS jeans. Branded shops has come up. The Pizza and PVR culture prevails. In our teens HOTSTUFF was the only happening thing to come up. Today you have KFCs, McDonalds & Baskin Robins. Fun at Beaters, Rita Ice cream, Shamiana all gone though Laloo Masala cold Drink is still there. Lady Fountain in the heart of Civil Lines gone too with time replaced by Netaji. Its a concrete mess and tranquilty and serenity all gone. In the evening car parking is a nuicance but we have Reliance Trends, Atlantis Mall, Vinayak Mall, Westside, Big Bazaar to show Civil Lines is modern but alas! we had to sacrifice the beauty and true character of Civil Lines the only place where we prefer to take our guests.
