Oliver had a pretty tough day today. It started out late last - TopicsExpress

Oliver had a pretty tough day today. It started out late last night with a mini EEG brain scan that was a bit painful and unsuccessful because the electrodes wouldnt stay attached. They did a thorough EEG brain scan awhile later, and so far, we dont have the results back yet. After that, they decided to do a lumbar puncture to check for meningitis. They tried twice, and finally gave it up for today. We questioned that particular procedure extensively, and after a quick prayer together down the hall, we agreed that we trust God with our little man, even if were having a hard time trusting doctors and nurses. Throughout the day, we were interviewed by approximately 15-20 different doctors - physical therapists, neurologists, etc, with many questions repeated, and some that most people would think to be silly or insignificant. I think we would all agree we dont ever remember being this exhausted - mentally, emotionally, physically. We just checked into Ronald McDonald house, showered, and were probably even going to skip dinner since were too tired to mess with it. Today was Jazmins 24th Birthday. Johnny had his birthday last week when we were admitted to the ICU. Not an ideal way to celebrate, but we are together, and Oliver has a way of bringing us smiles of joy even in the midst of this scary craziness. Praying that this time next year will find us celebrating all 3 of their birthdays together, with thankfulness for answered prayers. Jaz is conked out, and her mamas heart is having a tough time being separated from Ollie tonight. This is a first, and its very tough... Especially on her birthday. Thank you for all of the check-ins, prayers, and encouraging messages. Were not allowed to use our phones in there, so we will try to update when we can.
