Olympics games form the highest level in Sports; Nobel prize forms the highest level in Science, Economics, Medicine, Literature and Peace. Over the years, we would find rarest of rare cases of any Indian entering the halls of fame in these two most important aspect of human capability and creativity. These days we see some Indian names in the arena of Olympics. But alas! We have none for many many years in the halls of Nobel Prizes. It s indeed a shame (tragedy) on the entire Indian society (now numbering 1270 million), in spite of our leaders and academicians vaingloriously shouting from hill tops about such citadels of knowledge as the IITs. IIMs IISc and many other great laboratories and R & D centers within CSIR, DRDO, ISRO, CFTRI, and many more. What can we do to improve this lowly condition? Some foolish people make big noise about our past, and go to the extent of stating that Newton, Einstein, Wright Brothers and many more such giants were mere plagiarists, having siphoned off Indian original knowledge and made those theirs!!! One group tells us that Shakespeare is an impersonation of an Indian (in Mysore), Seshappa Iyer!!!!! Others would say that we had Pushpak Vimana as early as 5000 years back; and Sri Rama constructed the Sethu bridge between Lanka and Rameswaram thousands of Years back... all balderdash!!! But, today, we are unable to provide water, electricity, medicines, sanitation and livelihood to over 900 (71%) of our population! How can we improve from this low level, as a Nation?
