President Mukherjee is a registered voter of south Kolkata constituency in the eastern state of West Bengal, which goes to polls on May 12, the last phase of the mammoth nine-phase general elections which began on April 7, with results due on May 16. Rajamony said that although he had initially decided to vote through postal ballot, Mukherjee backed out at the last moment, keeping in tradition with his predecessors.
