Who are the Yazidi people? The #Yazidis are an #ancient - TopicsExpress

Who are the Yazidi people? The #Yazidis are an #ancient monotheistic #faith of the Middle East with numbering less than two million people in the world today due many oppressions and persecutions they have endured from their neighbouring #cultures throughout their entire existence. It has been estimated that 23 million Yezidis have been killed by various #Muslim clans, dominations and by other political driven ideologies during the past 700 years. The Yazidis are once again suffering their recent and cruelest attack in modern history reaching to number 74th #genocide committed by a group known to the world as Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (I.S.I.S.) With an official decree from their high ranking cleric to annihilate the Yazidi population from the face of this earth, Islamic State of #Iraq and #Syria fighters attacked #Sinjar, a stronghold of Yazidis in Northern Iraq without an ounce of mercy. In the dead hours of the night on Aug 3rd 2014 lives of around 300,000 Yazidis were shattered in matter of minutes. Hundreds of thousands of elderly persons, including men, #women, and #children of all ages woke to the terrorized gun shot sounds, wailing and screaming of the villagers for help. Thousands of men were slaughtered in the morning hours in front of their loved ones. Thousands of females of various age groups were kidnapped and put in pick-up trucks and sent to Mousil (biblical city Ninawa) to be used as “spoils of war”. Hundreds of people including women and children were captured and buried alive.Thousands upon thousands #flee to the nearby mountain for protection. Many did not have time to put on their shoes or collect any belongings; they fled in the clothes they were in at the time of flight. Hundreds of thousands of Yazidis were stranded on the mountain for days in the unbearable seared hot temperatures and due to lack of food and water hundreds of toddlers, young children and elderly died of thirst and hunger. With the help of US Air strikses that took place within the first week, hundreds of thousands of Yezidis make their way by walking in unbearable heat to Kurdistan. Currently, there are hundreds of thousands of Yezidis are displaced in the Northern part Iraq called Kurdstan region, where they are living on one bun of bread for the whole day, where they are living under bridges, refugee camps, in schools, in caves of mountains with little clothes and no money. There are many widowed women whom are left with many small children to care for; there are also many orphaned children who lost both of their parents to the atrocities of #ISIS. The majority of the displaced Yezidis do not want to stay in Middle East anymore. The people of this faith have had 73 genocides on them by many previous oppressors, including many radical religious groups. They feel they are not safe and cannot continue living their lives in Middle East. They cannot go back to their villages and continue their lives after seeing what their loved ones and neighbors went through and after what they went through as well. These people are in urgent need of therapy, especially the persons including children who saw terrible things, experienced near death, women who had to bury their little children who died of thirst by digging the #earth with their bare hands. #hope #pray #bringbacourgirlsfromisis #saveourgirlsfromisis #isil #war #middleeast #breakingnews #history #ancienthistory #hindus #peacockangel #peacock
