On 1 September 2013 EPCHS celebrates forty years of service to the whole community of Ellesmere Port. The school wants to further inspire its current pupils through the stories of success achieved by others over the past 40 years.” “Last year, 2012,” said Mr Lee “177 out of 178 pupils remained in education or training or found good jobs. That’s great credit to them and the school in the current climate. Our head girl and head boy of three years ago, Sarah Case and Jai Dillon were the latest to secure places at Cambridge and Oxford respectively. Sarah has just achieved a Ist class Honours degree in medicine whilst Jai turned his place down to take an aviation studies course which led directly to his current employment. He is a pilot for Easyjet flying from their Rome hub. Mike Dickinson, from the same year, having wrote and directed the staff pantomime 5 years ago when he was in the sixth form has been awarded a 1st class honours degree in Theatre Studies. He has written a full-length play which he will direct at the Edinburgh Festival this year and then take on tour. These are stories we know and share well but we have former pupils who have been fashion editor of the Daily Mail, acting and directing at the National Theatre, participated in research at CERN, the nuclear research facility in Switzerland, served the community in priesthood, and much more.” “We are asking those former pupils, of any age to put aside their modesty, perhaps proud parents could do this for them, and contact us if they would be willing to let us inspire today’s young people with the stories of their successes.” Mr Lee urges them to contact the school on 0151 355 2373 or by email [email protected] if they are happy to give details of their careers and have them shared with students.
