On 25th December every year, we mark the birth of our LORD JESUS - TopicsExpress

On 25th December every year, we mark the birth of our LORD JESUS CHRIST who came to dwell amongst us in the flesh giving hope to us all and the assurance of salvation and being reunited with God through Him (Jesus Christ). This period should stir in us a new zeal for God and also cause us to renew our commitment to love our Lord Jesus through whom the Father has revealed Himself to us. In simple terms, Christmas should bring us into the fulness of Gods love and take us closer to God like never before. We should constantly remind ourselves that Christmas is Christ-centered. Without Christ in focus, it only becomes another holiday as any other. The season of Advent should not be centered on buying new apparel and other material stuff though that is also good. Our spiritual aspect is what we must really focus and how we can share and receive Gods love through acts of love. Christmas becomes uneventful and dull because we give so much attention to the economic aspect just as we are experiencing hardships now. That aspect should be a subset of the main purpose of Christmas else we fail miserably in making the most out of the occasion. We should not be dull or disappointed because we couldnt buy stuffs or give ourselves gifts due to financial constraints. There are much better and profitable things we can do which would not even cost us money. We can pray for our families, friends, share Christ Himself to others and so much more. As we celebrate Christmas, I pray that God draws us closer to Him, open doors for us and always remain with us. For some of my friends who would prefer to dissociate themselves from this joyous occasion due to their own beliefs or misconceptions about the season of Christmas, I pray that the good Lord opens the eyes of your understanding so that you may come to remember the birth of our Lord. Let us not forget that Christmas isnt about a certain day but an event that we should constantly commemorate since that brought about our salvation. Christmas is for Christ and Him alone and not to any other deity.God bless us and keep us all till He comes in glory to take us to where He is!
