On 31 July 13 I sent a mail to my course mate Additional Foreign Secretary Amb. Mustaf Kamal (I learned later that he was on an official duty to Jeddah) to provide some assistance from the Bangladesh HC in India to my sister sitting speechless with her husband’s dead body who died just few hours back in one of the hospitals in the outskirt of Delhi (Nodia) all by herself. The real operation was initiated even before my mail reached Kamal. However, It was an amazing experience for me to watch how promptly all assistance started flowing in to the hospital to my sister let alone making arrangement of transporting the mortal remains of my passed away Brother-in-law. The HC officers under the instructions from the HE Deputy HC Mr. Mahbub Saleh mobilized all their resource to provide best possible assistance to the bereaved spouse of the deceased. SA to the HC, FS Mr. Sayed Muntasir Mamun took the lead and arranged everything very systematically and professionally. I was deeply moved to witness the highest standard of the fellow feeling and humanity of the officers of Bangladesh HC in India. Their level of competence and promptness to attend to the call of one of their ex colleagues was simply outstanding. I will never forget the generosity and magnanimity of my friend Kamal, HE DHC Mr. Mahbub Saleh, FS Mr. Sayed Muntasir Manu, Mr. Fahim Ahmed and all staffs who were directly or indirectly involved in this support operation of assisting my sister, taking care of my niece Sadia who travelled to Delhi next morning and eventually sending home the mortal remains of Mr. Chowdhury. I’d like to express my profound gratitude to all officers of Bangladesh HC in Delhi, India and thank all of you on behalf of my sister Mrs. Chowdhury, her daughter Sadia and all members of my family for the extraordinary assistance you have dispensed in a foreign land despite many complications and difficulties. Hedayet Bhai have been laid to his eternal rest in his country home on last Friday on the Holy Day of Jumatul Bida. Please let us all pray for his departed soul to be placed in Junnah. Ameen.
