On 8 October, interim Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the PA Mr Gilles Beschoor Plug and Dr Salam Fayyad head of Future for Palestine’s Board of Directors opened the second floor of the Beit Anan Cultural Forum Center. Together with the United Arab Emirate’s Foreign Ministry, the Netherlands Representative Office (NRO) funded the construction and furnishing of the second floor as well as the installment of electricity-generating solar panels, and the construction and equipment of a basketball court. The inauguration was attended by 13 heads of local council of the villages that will benefit from the expanded center. More than 35,000 people live in these villages located northwest of Jerusalem.
