On August 1, 1944 in Warsaw, Poland an uprising began against the German forces. On August 4th alone close to 100,000 people were massacred in Wola. By the 64th day of fighting a city of 1.8 million people was leveled to 1,000. I am still in awe as to how my family survived. I hope by spreading awareness of a battle to most unheard of and personifying the event so you can view what is currently going on in the world not just as news. It is real and people, more importantly families are being affected by this. If we are not careful this will happen again. I am an heir to a survivor and war hero. Many were not as lucky.
