On August 18, 2011, I started posting as Captain Grammar Pants. The name was a joke from a former student, Ivy Gaiser. My intention was to offer writing tips to any of my current or former students, and a few more people signed on just for laughs. Now the page has grown to over 27,000 followers, and I want to express my deep gratitude for your delightful comments, your willingness to forgive my errors, and your patience as I begin to catch up on the hundreds of posts and messages that appeared on the page while I was in Ireland during the spring and working at my second job this summer. On this three-year anniversary (Latin, year turning) of the founding of this page, I thank you all for joining the party!
