On August 2, 2014, we visited our friend and former employee, Joe Salerno, who was unsurpassed anywhere as a bartender and host for many years at Abruzzis Cafe 422 restaurant in Warren, Ohio. But today we saluted Joe as the originator of hot peppers in oil, which are famous throughout the great Mahoning Valley in Ohio—as well as parts elsewhere. And this was started by Joe at Abruzzi’s Café 422 in the early 1960’s. Please notice on the table a plaque of appreciation we presented to Joe honoring his great achievement.
