On August 8, 2014, The National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini in Chicago welcomed a very special guest from the Vatican. Monsignor Giacomo Pappalardo, who works closely with Pope Francis in The Pontifical Congregation for the Causes of Saints. Monsignor had heard so much about the Shrine of our first American Citizen Saint and wanted to take this opportunity to visit the Shrine while he was in Chicago. He promised to share his blessed experience with Pope Francis on his return to Rome. Monsignor was accompanied to the Shrine by Dr. Henri Tilmehdesh, formerly on the staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Tilmehdesh is a member of The Knights of Columbus Cabrini Council. Monsignor celebrated Mass in the Shrine which many attended. Visitors and Shrine staff enjoyed visiting with Monsignor and Dr. Telmehdesh.
