On Facebook, people only select stories from various media sources that support their argument. They refuse to inform themselves on what the opposition has to say and if they do they automatically discount it without considering the opposition’s position. When reading an article they pick and choose what resonates with them and ignore the rest. These stories often don’t dig deep enough into the issue. They leave one asking more questions than they answer. They fail to fact check or site their sources. In college or in the real world, when you write an argumentative paper or thesis, you must find at least 3 credible and reliable sources to each proposition you state and one of them better be from a book. You must also address the opposition’s stance by predicting what their response will be.
