On Friday (14th November 2014) we took 5 fighters to Gosport ABCs Show just outside Portsmouth on the south coast unfortunately Emma Hanslemans opponent weighed in too heave so she didnt box, Johnny Ward took on Luke McWhinnie and for the first time gave away both height and reach but outclassed his opponent to win on points, Alex Davies was matched against a very tough and rugged Tommy Farr who threw everything but the kitchen sink, but was no match for Alexs slicker moves and fast hands earning him a unanimous points decision, Ty Gleed boxed local favourite Bradley Sullivan of Gosport ABC, Ty dominated the centre of the ring and controlled the fight really well connecting with good combinations throughout the whole fight and won well on points, Last up for Emeralds was Leo Swinfen, who has been on the end of some bad decisions in the past but took the matter out of the judges hands by demolishing Adam Evens and after giving his opponent standing counts in the first 2 rounds forced Adams corner man to throw in the towel seconds before the referee was about to stop the fight to save Evens any further punishment! It doesnt get any better than 4 out of 4 when you box away from home, none of the fights were close and nobody could say any of our fighters were lucky to get a win, it was all down to Good coaching, Good training by the fighters and being able to take what you have learned into the ring, Well done to all of you, You have made Emeralds proud, ;-)
