On Friday, I responded to a call about an injured hawk in someones garage. Expecting the common red-shouldered hawk, I only took a medium-sized container for transport. It was a big surprise to find a juvenile eagle and made for an interesting ride to PRWC when the eagle didnt quite fit in my container!! :) This eagle, estimated about 3 years old, had a drooping wing and was sitting in the rescuers yard until they herded it into the garage. Exams show soft tissue damage, most likely after flying into something. Xrays in the coming week will show if there is any other damage. For now, the eagle is being treated and is eating well.
