Road closures, Mother’s Day Classic, Broadbeach Broadbeach police would like to remind motorists and affected residents in the Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach and Nobbys Beach area that Broadbeach will be hosting the Mother’s Day Classic this Sunday. There will be substantial road closures in place along parts of Old Burleigh Road, Queensland Avenue, Australia Avenue, Hedges Avenue and Albratross Avenue. Broadbeach police have been working with event organisers to ensure this event runs safely and with minimal disruption to the local community. Affected residents and businesses should have received notification of arrangements in place. The event will require road closures, involving local police and traffic controllers, from 5am and is expected to be fully reopened by 10am.
