On Friday, October 26, all fifth graders at Gibbs officially - TopicsExpress

On Friday, October 26, all fifth graders at Gibbs officially opened Little Rock’s annual World Fest ceremonies with the International Parade of Flags, a showcase of foreign languages, and an audience favorite, the German “Chicken Dance.” Following Opening Ceremonies, the fifth graders watched other cultural performances, interviewed people from other countries, completed a Gibbs treasure hunt sheet, and completed a World Fest activity sheet for a prize. The students enjoyed the petting zoo, including holding the Joey, a baby kangaroo, or riding on a horse. The piglets and bunnies were a hit as well. Gibbs has opened the festival since World Fest first began at Metrocentre Mall in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s. World Fest is sponsored by the Little Rock Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission and is now held in War Memorial Park.
