On January 5th, 2015, the Dubuque City Council voted to ban sledding in all City of Dubuque parks except for 2. Only City of Dubuque Government owned property is covered under the ordinance. Allison Henderson Park and Bunker Hill are the only 2 city-owned properties where sledding is allowed. Anyone found sledding on City of Dubuque Government owned property other than the 2 above areas may be given a warning while repeat offenders could face a $750 fine. State of Iowa, Dubuque Community School District, and any other Private Property is NOT covered under this ordinance and sledding there is not affected by the ordinance. However, if you are a sledding in these areas and refuse to leave after being asked by the property owner, you would be considered trespassing and could be charged with trespassing.
