On July 1, 2014, a Facebook page called “Berkeley’s Place” was launched in honor of a special rescue dog. https://facebook/BerkeleysPlace Berkeley’s Place is a forum to honour all aspects of our pet’s lives and our relationship with them. Many people are unaware of just how many rescue groups are in Alberta saving lives or have misconceptions about rescue animals. This will be a page where animal rescues and animal related businesses can come together to promote events, submit wish list requests, learn about alternative natural healing options using crystal and essential oil therapy and gain more exposure for their rescue. We will be showcasing artisans who give of their time, or portion of revenue, to help rescues gain more exposure and to help organizations in their fundraising efforts. As a welcome gift to our page, Berkeley’s Place is offering a free healing crystal pendant for rescue dogs. This pendant can be clipped to a dog’s collar or leash and the healing properties of each stone are listed on the card attached. As a partner on our page, we have some DEWS bandannas to give away (red and yellow only) if your rescue is in need of more or has not received any. Encourage a rescue or foster family to “Like” our page when we launch and that rescue will be entered into a draw for $50 worth of product or gift cards. This month we are offering a $25 Petsmart gift card and a medium size “cool mat” for dogs. The retail value of this package is actually $65! Each month we will hold a draw and the winning rescue will win the featured prize for that month, which can be used for the rescue animals or towards any silent auction or raffles. In addition to a monthly draw for rescue organizations, we are featuring Bandy’s Bark Box. Nominate a foster family for a chance to win a Bark Box for that family! We look forward to partnering with businesses and individuals to help fulfill wish list needs, aid in fundraising drives and be a support to rescues and their volunteers!
