On July 29th, 1964, Joan filmed several scenes for Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte. This was to be the last day Joan worked on the Hush set. After having filmed several scenes, Joan informed Aldrich that she had over exerted herself and requested to leave the set early. Among the scenes Joan filmed this day was the staircase murder scene with Agnes Moorehead. When de Havilland accepted the role, she requested that many of Miriams scenes be re-written...which they were. However, the murder of Velma was one of the only scenes involving Miriam that remained from the original shooting script prior to de Havilland replacing Joan.
