On July 4th, 2010 the Giants lost a 15 inning 4-3 game to Colorado. It was their eighth loss in nine games. They were 41-40, in fourth place, 7 1/2 games behind first place San Diego. Big changes seemed to be coming. I remember thinking Bochy days were probably numbered. Out of nowhere came a run in which over the next month the Giants went 21-5, which included four game sweeps at Milwaukee and at Arizona along with a three game home sweep against the Dodgers. On the morning of August 4th the Giants were 62-45 and in second place one game behind first place San Diego. That set up an incredible summer and the best October in San Francisco Giant baseball history. Note: I was planning to write something like this even when the Giants were 42-21 and rolling just to bring back a nice memory, not to give hope for this season. HAPPY 4TH TO ALL
