On May 20, 2011 I was called into my Police Chiefs office after finishing up a dog call in the mighty city of Palmetto Georgia. I thought the Chief wanted to see me to talk more about me attending Command College. Instead I was met by three Clayton County Sheriff deputies and the chief. I was told to stand still and keep my hands above my and head and one of the deputies removed my gun and placed me in handcuffs. I was under arrest. As a police officer that is probably the worst feeling you could ever have. Anyway I was stripped of my uniform, placed into a vehicle and transported to the Clayton County jail...where all the media was awaiting to video my perp walk. Once inside I was informed of my charges and told my bond was $120,000. I used to be the Public Information Officer of the same facility I was now being housed in. According to the enemys plan my arrest was supposed to be my end. According to Gods plan it was my beginning. While I was out on bail and still under indictment, I got notion to go to become a lawyer. I had no college credits and I needed a degree. Oh and I needed to not be convicted of a felony....lol. So while all of the criminal proceeding were going on against me, I started taking CLEP examinations for credit to earn my degree in March 2012. In August 2013 every charge against me was dropped. A month later I graduated from college with honors. By December of 2013 I took the LSAT for law school. In January 2014 I applied to law school. In February 2014 I was informed I won a scholarship to attend law school in Washington DC at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clark School of Law. Its now July 2014 and Im in DC preparing to start law school. I hope this testimony will encourage someone out there. Whatever God has planned for your life, cant nobody, nor any group pf people, or even your own mistakes stop it!
