On Monday October 20, 2014 I will begin seeing my first patient as a psychotherapy trainee in my Health Psychology and Clinical Science doctoral training program. This is an important personal milestone after 12 challenging years since leaving Jehovahs Witnesses and staring my life completely over. I am being trained to help patients with severe anxiety and depression with a treatment program called Emotion Regulation Therapy (ERT) — which Im very excited about. You can learn more about ERT here: emotionregulationtherapy/ While I receive training to conduct in person therapy, I am also working on a project to deliver the principles of ERT in an online and app based format.
